NDS welcomes guest performers
Two of the fastest-rising stars of British classical music are booked to appear with NDS at the Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe on Friday 17th May, 2012.

Tom PosterTom Poster, widely acknowledged as one of the UK's most exciting young concert pianists, is our soloist in Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No 2 in C minor. Appearing regularly on BBC Radio 3 as soloist and chamber musician, Tom has also appeared in both capacities at the BBC Proms in 2008, 2009 and 2011. He has given solo recitals at the Barbican Hall, the Brighton, City of London, Edinburgh, Presteigne and Spoleto Festivals, and in Canada, the Channel Islands, France, Germany and Switzerland.

Born in 1981, Tom studied with Joan Havill at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he held a Postgraduate Fellowship, and at King’s College, Cambridge, where he gained a Double First in Music.

Tom Seligman is one of the UK’s most exciting young conducting talents, with an increasingly impressive portfolio of projects and collaborations behind him. He takes over from our Musical Director and regular conductor, Emma Kent, as guest conductor for our Spring concert.
After studies in Cambridge, Glasgow, London and Amsterdam, Tom was appointed musical co-ordinator and conductor of the inaugural Cheltenham Festival Academy in 2005, working with some of the most brilliant young musical talents from across the UK. He has worked extensively with the BBC and London Symphony Choruses and made his first appearance with the English National Ballet at the London Coliseum in December 2012.
